Writer's Block: Open book test

Based on the books on your bookshelf, what conclusions would people draw about you?

People would think that I am a sex crazed, philosophy major living in a fantasy world.

Holy cow! It's a post!

I am posting! Or at least I think I am posting. I could be thinking I am posting, and if that is the case I hope no one is reading this because that means someone is reading my mind! So stop reading my mind!

Anyway the post! This post is on the issue of sex verses masturbation. For those of you who know me you may know that I give out too much information. If you are one of those people who know me then you have probably heard me talk about my personal Sarah time. If you have gotten this much then you probably know about my personal abilities i.e. I am good at pleasing myself. And for those of you who read my last post it is safe to assume that I lost my v-card. And now I have a boyfriend. Yay! (He is very nice. His name is Dan.)

So now that the background information is done I now have something to say about sex ans masturbation: I now know why some people I know masturbate 3, 4, 8 times a day. Because masturbation is just not as good as sex.

I have been getting sexed on the regular now and I like it. A lot. And for the few times I am not around the boy and I want to get sexed I rely on myself. But now it doesn't matter how much fun I have I still want more.

So to all my friends who let me have sex and then destroy personal Sarah time, You suck!

A test is a quest!

Writer's Block: Annals of Animal Warfare

Putting the laws of time and plausiblity aside, picture a battle between the megalodon (a prehistoric shark with a six-foot jaw span) and a giant squid (reported to be the size of a school bus). Who would win?

The megalodon would win. Here is my reasoning: When is was legal to kill whales, fisherman reported that they killed whales that had large lacerations and scars similar to the ones inflicted by a squid but on a much larger scale. The whales had to have won the fight with the squids to live so long with just scars on their bodies. The megalodon is not as large a sperm whale but it does have the large mouth. I think the size of his mouth makes up for its length.

My day at the polling area.

I just learned that in New York State students are de-registered from voting every year without being notified of about their de-registration. Generally the law is that if you have not voted in four years you are automatically de-registered. I knew about that.

So I went to my polling place and I found out that I am not on the list of registered voters. They called headquarters and that is when I found out that I was de-registered. They let me do an absentee ballot right there, so, I still voted.

I asked why I was de-registered before I went home. I was told that the reason the New York State government made this law is because students on a college campus tend to move more than other people. If a non-college student moves to a different home then they need to fill out a new registration card. If students are de-registered because they might move, then senior citizens should be de-registered because so many of them get moved to nursing homes and therefore change their address. (I know this sounds silly but how much sillier is the current law made for college students?) But the senior citizens are not de-registered, but instead are asked to fill out a new voter registration card, just like everyone else. Why are college students given this different rule?

To me this law is targeting students. Students tend to be liberal and because they are asked to do an absentee ballot many leave the voting area because they think their votes will not count. How many students left without voting because of this law, I do not know. A large portion of the democratic party is not being accounted for, in New York State, not because of something they did wrong but, because of a little known law that keeps their votes from being count at the same time as everyone else's.

Health Care

So I was talking to one of my suite-mates and she told me that she does not think that we should have universal health care. I asked her why and she said something along the lines of "why should I pay for someone else. Everyone should pay for themselves."

I think this is something a young healthy person would think. My reasoning is that if you are young and healthy odds are you have never had to pay extremely high medical bills. You have do idea how much debt people get into because a they are dying with cancer and they have no health care. (I have never been sick but my grandmother was sick, in a nursing home. If my mother did not have a union who fought for her health insurance my grandmother would have not gotten the medical attention she needed.) If everyone understood what it is like to be mortally sick, I do not think anyone would take the chance and not have health insurance.

Now, just because your job gives you insurance as a part of your pension it does not mean you will have that insurance when you need it, in old age. Now that the economy is starting to fall look at the people who are now losing their insurance and their security. Those are not lazy people who have always been parasites on the US. They worked for companies all their lives, negotiated contracts and thought that they would be able to have some piece of mind now that they are older. Now they have no pension and therefore no income. Some of these people are too old to work. If they have cancer or Alzheimer's there is no way they can work. And they still have to pay the medical bills.

Is it their fault that they have no insurance? No. Is there anything that they can do about it? Not really. Sadly, this happens much more often then we really want to know. Things like this happened in the 1990s, when the economy was good. Now look. It all over the news. You or your parents know someone who is going though this right now, probably.

So, who is to say that it won't happen to you. We don't know the future. Anything could happen. Nothing could happen. But if you do lose your pension and your income, don't you want to know that you will have insurance that you paid for and it will be their, unlike your pension, no matter what?

You are not superhuman. And money does not last. And just because you are educated, you are not exempt from the economy and its short comings. But other people can help you no matter what because some person in Texas or California will pay their taxes so that money can go to universal health insurance.

And really how much would it cost if everyone paid for it? The taxes you would pay would not be the same amount if you had to pay out of pocket for insurance of your own. And it would be money that you know would go to people who needed it. To your neighbor, your old teacher, or the bag lady at Wal-mart.

So it just angers me when people say "well they must not have worked hard enough. That is why they are in this situation." It's not about who worked harder. It's about working together and helping people when they need it.

Dream stuff

So I have been having a bunch of dreams in which people I know are in them. People in class, suitemates, friends. But this one guy in particular has been in all of them and I have no idea why.

The last dream involved me getting out of bed because I was sleeping to go talk to him. He was in the 8th floor lounge right next to my room. He has never been in the dorms from my knowledge. That bit about getting out of bed was too real. I grumbled and bitched as I got up. Very life like and a little funny.

There was another part of the same dream with my red head suitemate where she got upset because of something that I didn't understand. If you know this particular suitemate then that is not that far out of the ordinary. Her roommate was in the dream too. In the dream she was being so OCD that she reorganized a store that her friends owned. If you know that girl you would know that that is also not out of the ordinary.

BTW, I just rediscovered Queen. And it must be said, Queen is the greatest band that ever lived and the only reason why they got a bad rap is because most American critics don't get it. (I stole most of that quotation from Big Daddy. Originally it was about Styx.) God Save The Queen!

Its not time to make a change,
Just relax, take it easy.
Youre still young, thats your fault,
Theres so much you have to know.
Find a girl, settle down,
If you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but Im happy.

I was once like you are now, and I know that its not easy,
To be calm when youve found something going on.
But take your time, think a lot,
Why, think of everything youve got.
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not.

How can I try to explain, when I do he turns away again.
Its always been the same, same old story.
From the moment I could talk I was ordered to listen.
Now theres a way and I know that I have to go away.
I know I have to go.

Its not time to make a change,
Just sit down, take it slowly.
Youre still young, thats your fault,
Theres so much you have to go through.
Find a girl, settle down,
If you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but Im happy.
(son-- away away away, I know I have to
Make this decision alone - no)
All the times that I cried, keeping all the things I knew inside,
Its hard, but its harder to ignore it.
If they were right, Id agree, but its them you know not me.
Now theres a way and I know that I have to go away.
I know I have to go.
(father-- stay stay stay, why must you go and
Make this decision alone? )

It's pretty cheesy to put lyrics into your profile but there you are. By the way, I love Cat Stevens.
